Service learning in the Puget Sound will provide on-location lessons and service opportunities related to the complex interactions between human behavior, the land and our most valuable resource, water.
6 days in the beautiful Pacific Northwest
Discovery and adventure in the upper Puget Sound area are highlighted with an in-depth look at how this region is developing programs to monitor and maintain the delicate balance between urban growth and natural resources. Explore ideas of industrial v. sustainable business and agriculture while working on an organic farm. Sail aboard the Adventuress as an active crew member studying Marine Life, Watersheds and Ocean acidification. Protect local estuaries with the Puget Sound Keepers’ Kayak Patrol and navigate the majestic old-growth forests of the Cascades while studying the ecological preserve that provides drinking water for more than one million residents.
